Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art consisting of music, movement, and rhythm.

Capoeira is a constant flow of movement as players explore creative interactions that range from dance to fight, while non-playing participants still play through music. Players learn new instruments and sing songs in Brazilian/Portuguese.

It is a dance-like fight, A fight-like dance, A song, A way of life.

Check the calendar for locations and directions. We are trying to start a club at UNR. We need to get 10 people signed up to get the club registered. If you are a UNR student and are interested please send an email.

We are also trying to set up clubs through TMCC, Sierra College, Sierra Nevada. Please email if you are interested or could help.

The priority of our group should be the kids. Capoeira has been embraced by the community thus far and the time has come to set up kids classes. If you are a parent and are interested please email and help set up a group. If we receive confirmation of a group of five or more kids we will arrange a class for them. Tahoe Capoeira covers the areas of Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Incline, Truckee, Reno and beyond. We ask for donations only.
